Re: Michelin Road 5 Announced Jan 2018

Been very pleased with the PR4s. About 7k on my set and they still have several mm of useable rubber. They have done some long tours and feel planted. Suspect the PR5 will be another good offering...

Re: Exhaust Rattle - how to stop?

As a stop gap bodge you could squirt some high temp silicon sealant at the rattle. Once cured it may stop the noise.

Re: Pothole damage

Tyre may be OK but for safety's sake I wouldn't risk it. Add it to the bill for the council. Hopefully they will cover your costs. If you had the tyre inspected once off the rim you may be happy to...

Re: Sports Tuck Roll Seat Feedback

I think that is the most important point. If I am on an involving road and moving about more I have no problem with the seat (stock SV650SL2) but on dual carriageways it doesn't take long for it to...

Re: Somewhere nice to stay that's CHEAP

Are you crossing the channel the same day you leave Versailles or looking for somewhere abroad for the stopover.
A good place to stay 50mins from Calais is Montreuil sur Mer. The other place I would...

Re: Coolant leak?

But a guard would not have stopped the horn falling off into the back of the radiator. Going to check the fixing on my horn bracket is done up. Thank you for the heads up.

Re: Pointy Rear Brake bleeding not going well

Have you tried moving the brake pedal down whilst drawing fluid through the bleeder with the vacuum. That has worked on my old bike to shift air from the master cylinder.

Re: Pointy won't turn off!

Markylemin, just for interest, how many miles has your bike done before this failure?

Re: Rear brake pin dust cover seized

If it's the same as my pointy it is not easy to get straight onto that grub screw as the exhaust is in the way. You might have some luck with an impact screwdriver. This worked for me on an old Honda...

Re: Which Fender Extender sticky or rivet? (pointy)

I think mine is by pyramid plastics. I took the mudguard off and gave the underside a good clean then stuck the extender on with clear silicon sealant. A couple of clothes pegs help. Leave overnight...

Re: Cornering

Take out the front wheel of a pushbike and hold the axle. Give the wheel a good spin and then try turning it to the left. It will strongly lean to the right. Turn to the right and it leans to the...

Re: Anyonen had a stuck oil filter recently?

If you do the filter up with bare hand it should come undone ok with a rubber gloved hand. That was my technique for years without a problem. As Suzuki provide a tightening torque figure for the SV...

Re: Oil Filter threads

I get it, a proper popper pops properly preventing particle percolation whereas a poor popper pops prematurely promoting particle circulation.

Sorry

Re: Oil Filter threads

Perhaps damaged by cross threading. Always a good idea when putting a new filter on to turn it the wrong way to start with until you feel the thread engage then do up as normal.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

News of the Honda line up for the road racing this year. Guy Martin hungry for that elusive win. Certainly looking forward to watching the TT again.
