From 38 to near 50 Mpg is a helluva boost back :)

As always it's not usually just one component causing a problem but lack of general maintenance in a whole system.I check these things quite often...

Yes constant high revs may exacerbate the conditions.

I think a cheap,"Cramp Buster" and,"Thumb-Over technique<when safe>" just used for that part of the journey would do the trick :)

Got bored so thought I would try and fit my Vista Cruise control.Took the throttle shaft off and ground all the fins off and seems to be fine.

Not test ridden it yet but should be ok :)

1:Try a ,"Cramp Buster" even if you have to fettle it a bit to suit your needs as I might have to do.

The old CX500s were bouncy.They used crappy ATF oil in them.Cured by using 20w Fork oil.Some guys even just used 20w50 engine oil in them :shock:

There was a guy on the US CX forum who bought his around 1980 with 6,000 miles on it.He came on the forum a few years ago asking if it was time to rebuild the original engine as it had 280,000 miles...
