Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I'd agree to an extent, but the denial of warranty claims if the thing is opened is what puts many people off trying. Now they don't even know how. Added to this is spares not being readily available...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I hope the operation goes well for you Craig.

My gripe is snow / ice rendering the road to town impassable. Looks like gritting was not effective last night.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Yeah these self-seal are a bit different to run-flats, in that they have gunk in them already to 'seal' any punctures. Run-flats have reinforced sidewalls to allow them to run for a limited time...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Definitely John!

I didn't gripe about the third thing..... I came down to the kitchen yesterday afternoon to make a coffee and found a puddle of water coming from under the fridge/freezer. I was...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Cars!

Yesterday we got a puncture in the big car, rendering it useless as like all modern cars it has no spare. The OE tyres are self sealing (allegedly, experience proves otherwise) so not even a...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Car insurance (and insurance in general) has gone up a lot this year. The problems are multiple, leading to big hikes in premiums. LV have a thing about it on their website...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I forgot you are a hardy soul  Ours is on the thermostat, so if its cold enough it comes on, otherwise it does not. Much fiddling with TRVs has got the room temps just about right. The heating...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

There's a new strain about and the Autumn is a time for an up tick if the past two years are anything to go by. I know of quite few with it at the moment. Wore my mask to the shops for the first time...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Agree John, lots of folks seem to think bagging it is all that is needed. All that does is create litter! Take your litter home folks or drop it in the bin.

My gripe on this score is all the cat...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Thanks Mav, its a full year since she died. While everyone was quite shocked, it has had a lovely consequence in that it has pulled the family closer together. I now know Anne's children so much...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Of course it is. The Sun (spits) had been running this for a couple of days before the BBC responded and it was a BIG DEAL. That just happened to coincide with the court deadline for Boris to hand...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

If brand new, worth checking with the dealer that the on-board SIM for the car is activated and registered. The dealer should do this as part of handover process / PDI. I suspect this is the problem...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Traffic alerts / re-route works well in my car. What car do you have and how old? Can the software in the infotainment be updated and is it up to date?

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Its not just the time and inconvenience John, but the 70 mile round trip. They act like they are doing you a favour by deigning to work on your car.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Bloody car dealerships. Gone are the days of knowing your **** from your elbow! Wifey just took the car in for some warranty work, which when booked we said she'd wait for for. When she arrived for...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I suspect widespread ignoring of the limits will take place. I fear that will lead to people just ignoring all limits as speeding will become accepted as 'normal' and speed limits will lose...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I actually do not know, but its actually quite hard to do more than 40 on that road in a car. I've passed a group of TVRs on my push bike down there! I would guess that they have had a number of...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

It was 17th-19th April the signs went up, but the speed restriction order was made in 2021. The signs were put up when the road was closed for a few days for barrier replacement and fixing a...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

They seem to have the vans there a lot more recently, I think because the 40 itself is hard to police with the van. It won't be long before it has average speed cameras along there. The vans are also...
