Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Scottish B roads. First time on the B709 in two years and in places it's still a pothole and gravel slalom.
Ditto the 6318. It's OK heading north from Gilsland but as soon as it crosses the B6357...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I got a really good deal with Olympus a few years ago, combined with an AMEX cashback deal. With Olympus, the cashback claim could be submitted immediately but they didn't pay out for 30 days, when...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Don't trust the salespeople to explain. They probably haven't a clue about the cashback offers themselves and their focus is making the sale. Go onto the website or promo material and check for...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

DVLA
I SORNed the bike for winter at the end of December and got a cheque refunding three months tax last week. Banked it on Monday and it bounced! Stopped by the issuer apparently.
It's...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

The two storms over the weekend. Serious winds here oop north which gave several of my slate roof tiles flying lessons.
More expense. :(

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I got out into the Dales today, which looks like being the last time for a while that we get double digit temperatures.
Bike is dirty but I'm dirtier! At the back, from the bottom of my jacket to...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Maybe moving backwards through space and time into another dimension when you and the SV returned from the future did it. Oil filter paint burnt off during re-entry. :):):)

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

You bought it through Paypal. Don't they have a free returns service? I remember signing up to it last year.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I treated myself to one of the Sage machines a while back and couldn't live without it - or something similar.
I like to try different coffees and flirt between different roasters such as Coffee...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Riding along and there's a vehicle approaching in the opposite carriageway, it goes past and about 2 seconds later, an extremely strong smell of weed.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Veissmann boilers are pretty good and usually come with a 5 year warranty

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I went to the local Tesco on Tuesday and it was fine. There was bog roll, tissues and most things available.
I went again after work Wednesday evening and the place had been absolutely ravaged. Not...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

My bike hasn't been out since mid-September but like admin says, it's more of a hobby/leisure tool and worth it for the enjoyment it gives me 6 months a year.
Even so, having a car is a worse deal....

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

It's a shame that a knowledgeable guy has left the forum but I don't see much logic from someone who thinks politics doesn't belong on a bike forum and then posts this ....

This motorcycling...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

It's surface dressing season again. Nearly every road I tried between Croft thru Teesdale and Weardale had a tar and chip section with the obligatory gravel marbles and an advisory 20mph limit. The...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Hastings were (unexpectedly I must admit) great with me when I switched from my SV to the XSR. They compared costs of cancelling the policy and starting a new one against amending my existing policy....

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I might have 115 bhp but I probably don't use most of it and I don't think I'd describe my riding style as 'aggressive'. Disappointed in the life of these.
I don't know how you get so much life out...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

My gripe today - Ridiculous pricing!

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I've noticed a little bit of lag and momentary blank screens when using some programs but that's all so far.
