Re: What have you tinkered with today?

That would do my head in. I have two options in life - symmetrical or bloody mess.

I've lubed my chain today. On the SV I had a Scottoiler and swore by it. The F800 has a centre stand. What a...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Conservative government in 1989. It's a Thatcher legacy. I believe the phrase of the day was "The NHS is safe in our hands"

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

My gripe is a boiler health check. It was fine before but now isn't working.

The engineer can't get back until tomorrow's so that's another day off. I can guess what's wrong and I'll bet they'll...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Be careful with EGR & DPF removal. As the website says, "Our DPF Removal service is sold for off-road use only. Removal of a DPF will almost invariably make your vehicle illegal for use on a public...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

If the DPF is regenerating then it should be fine. They can get too bad to regenerate which is a real pain. The engine then just stops working because the exhaust blocks.

I think it's long been...

Farewell SV owners

After a ridiculous number of years owning SV650s I am moving on. 3 faired ones over 18 years, 200,000 miles in total.
Never bought, or killed, a reg/rec. Last set of tyres have clocked 16,000...

I thought mate was a word (other than the sexual sense) used to underline a closer bond than would otherwise be perceived. Why...

Re: BMW servicing

Well. The dealer hasn't called me about the F800R I was interested in. They obviously sell themselves.

Off to look at an MT-09 and a Z900 this week then!

You miss the context in contemporary America.
It was just 50 years ago that race riots were rife and MLK was killed. Racial hatred still exists and is overt - I've heard of close family members...

another Darwin award candidate

The International Centre for Prison Studies believe it to be around 20%

If you claim something at least back it up.

A fair proportion of that figure are those who can't meet bail
