Re: Vintage film cameras

Wow, I guess you had things to point it at! I'm not sure there are many zooms much faster than f4. The 70-200 Tamron zoom I had has sold, and the Bessa.

Re: Vintage film cameras

Looking good! I've finished the Contessamat, need to take some pics tomorrow and get stuff advertised. Middle element wouldn't budge on this one either but I could clean if from both sides in situ....

They're just uncompressed so you should get a truer rendition of the image. This is nice, just outside Hull:...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Look great, there is just a little flare so it could be the diffuse light dropping the contrast. I've had similar results in the same sorts of conditions. I presume you can work more with bitmaps...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Getting there! Couldn't remove enough of the speed ring of the Bessa to adjust the 2, 5 and 10 as there's a hole in it for some reason around there, so it will have to do. It's all finished now. The...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Bare could be nice if you polish it up a bit. What do you mean by shims? Also where did you get the focus screen from?

Re: Vintage film cameras

Yep i guess. I made a holder for an SLR screen from some really stiff cardboard. You need a main piece for the body of it (with a hole a little larger than the SLR focus screen), then a smaller piece...

Re: Vintage film cameras

I've been working on the Bessa, it has a Compur Rapid shutter, so really all you need is one not-very-small screwdriver. Al fine but now it's back together it's sticking at slow speeds. Might be the...

Re: Let the train take the strain?

I don't think I've ever heard any real sound from ear buds! I take the odd train to London, they're generally fine, sounds like you had a bad day. Cheap, though, they're not.

Re: Plumbing quotations

I'd say the first quote is closer to the mark, the second is ridiculous. The system needs to be drained, there is a lot to do, as SV650rules says, there will be a contingency in there for the...

Re: Vintage film cameras

You.re having better luck than me! Collimated the Durst, it needs a good clean. I made up some ammonia and peroxide and cleaned the front lens first. I did the Contessamat, and also popped the lenses...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Kiron are the same brand as Vivitar and at least one other, they get almost universally good reviews. I don't think the zoom is worth a lot, but I reckon it would deliver.

Re: Vintage film cameras

It's already November and I said I'd sell some cameras at Christmas so I finally made a start. Contessamat SBE with sticky aperture blades, couldn't get the middle lens out but managed all the same....
