Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

9am
I'm sure we've all seen someone on a train drinking a can of Tennants at that time

Today 9am, local shop
Guy buys 2 litre bottle of Coke. Walks out of the shop and removes the top, throwing...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I worked out eventually that the bleed nipples let air by when I undid them. It meant there was no pressure when I pressed the lever.

In the end I just removed the nipples and let it flow through...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Empty brake lines, airlock, pump forever, nothing coming through.

End up taking banjo off and wait 10 minutes for fluid to run through system. Them clean up the mess.

Surely that's not how...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I love that instruction you get about filling brake lines from empty. The bit that says, "This will take a few minutes"

It should say "Take as long as you like. Your life isn't long enough to do...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Should have my rebuilt calipers back in a while. Then just the small matter of refilling the system from empty.

Someone has helped themselves to all my cable ties!! Grr.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Been replacing a broken brake reservoir. Went ok, but in pumping out the pistons to drop the fluid level I found the caliper seals had failed.

But impressed.

I don't have any and I need the...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

My son gets migraines and says the beta blockers make him feel 'odd.' He says he has to remember to drink more and finds that sugary drinks help. (Just don't get me started about tax on sugary drinks...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Another biker decided to change lanes right in front of me this morning, forcing me on to the central reservation to avoid them. They didn't bother checking before they moved, didn't acknowledge my...

More ridiculous mpg figures (AL7)

I'll average 60 mpg on an Sk8. That's mainly motorway riding at slot 80-85 (I suspect the Speedo over registers by 10% as that's what the GPS says)
...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I was thinking my gripe was a 60 Mile commute in warm weather with clear blue skies, warm tarmac and sticky tyres.[emoji16]

First I have to get the lone fly out of my house. They do my head in.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Strange smile this.

I was driving the car today and tried pulling out in front of a biker at a T junction, but then realised he wasn't going to pull in to the road I was exiting, so I ended up...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

My understanding is that anyone else who lives in the house as dependent cannot be unhoused by selling it to pay for care. That means that should the house be sold it has a resident which then...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Look at Italy?
Italy has just announced that all Roma must register with the government. That "unfortunately" they can't deport Italian Roma, but the rest will be sent away.

Now replace "Roma"...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

My gripe is the transit driver who [emoji1307] did a coffee bean fist shake at me just because I filtered past him.

No point, no reason, no brain. If he wanted me to behave like a tosser I could...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

The fact the keyring is small is important, especially if you have to drive past it on your way off the motorway. I would argue that the signage terms fail the test of 'large lettering' and...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

There is legal precedent in challenging these overnight charges. A lawyer well known for fighting parking charges received one at a service station but fought it and won in his lunchtime.

Is...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

It doesn't take many people to get this going. Don't forget it was not the majority who voted for him, Clinton got more votes.

He fed a fear of immigration, then started shutting press coverage...

Re: Another AL7 seat thread

Because your bum is in the seat twice as long as it would be at 60mpg?

Washing my gear today. So no biking this weekend, but it'll feel lovely on Monday. Nothing like clean cheek pads on your helmet! [emoji38]

Re: Off to N. Yorkshire

You did well. I celebrated getting rid of mine after 9 years of pain, expense and largely waiting for the RAC.
