Re: Curvy fender extender & hugger

Fortunately its not expensive to fix the problem with independent companies producing solutions.
I mean I don't commute any more by Motorbike but this would be a must have to stop the Suzuki build...

Re: Curvy fender extender & hugger

I can't for the life of me get the images to appear without the link. But you get the idea.
I was just tired of cleaning the underneath in this weather.

Why Suzuki never made the original mud...

Re: Curvy fender extender & hugger

Managed to find a rear hugger on ebay by a chap that makes them out of fibre glass. Come in black and white gloss. Works well. Replaces he chain gaurd and a great fit.

Works well and looks like...

Re: New owner looking for brake disc recommendations?

Always use the rear! Much easier to control a slide than the front giving way on wet white lines or manhole covers ;-)

Also stops the bike diving so much too!

Re: Is there a low mounted GP/ stumpy exhaust for curvy SV?

Suppose at that angle its weight is almost supported anyway and the down tubes are quite substantial.
I men if it falls off I guess its just more weight reduction right?

Re: winter is coming. for those that get cold.

Interesting but can 10w of power really heat you up that much?

When I used to ride all year round. I found it was never my core that was cold.
More the fingers and toes and neck.
And you need...

Re: DIY or pro suspension

I never thought the standard stuff was that horrendous if I'm honest. However I certainly don't push as much as I used to when I was younger.

Is the old stuff on it currently very worn?
Some...

Curvy fender extender & hugger

Sick to death of going out for a weekend blast and having to clean the engine with flung up dirt.

So I've bought an extender for twenty quid from pyramid plastics.

Can anyone recommend a rear...

Re: DIY or pro suspension

I think for that price it would be hard to beat as I don't think you'll get it much cheaper. Plus you'll save skin on your hands and any issues you can take it back.

Is this a local company to...

Re: DIY or pro suspension

Sounds like a reasonable amount not to get your hands dirty with tried and tested methods.

Re: Is there a low mounted GP/ stumpy exhaust for curvy SV?

Smaller the can louder it will be yes. Less material and baffle to absorb the sound.
I've never bothered as I'm keeping the SV400 as standard as possible. But I know the OEM kit is very heavy...

Re: Is there a low mounted GP/ stumpy exhaust for curvy SV?

Yeah if it can hold a persons weight I am sure you can attach a Can link to it.

Re: Is there a low mounted GP/ stumpy exhaust for curvy SV?

Having it lower and more towards the first peg would surely mean the silencer wouldn't be supported?
You'd need to find another supporting bracket to hold the can. Which might prove to be a bit more...

Re: Aftermarket Speedometer for 2000 SV650 (Y)

I've found the first generation speedometer pretty inaccurate too. Below 50mph it under reads then over 50mph it starts to over read.

Anyone else noticed that?

Re: Suzuki engineers talk about developing the Gen 3 SV

Unpopular opinion coming.

I don't think the SV Seat is that bad at all.

Done a recent ride to London and back in the (Circa 250 miles) and I thought it was fine.
However I forgot how taxing...

I understand it's irritating when something doesn't work. Like you I'd probably want to fix it. Even if I didn't find it useful.

Re: Life and warranties

Hope you manage to get it fixed. For £100 think I'd spend my money on something else and not worry about it.

I always go for 7th gear. Who cares. You know your in top gear and there's no more to...

Re: Throttle Body Synchronisation

It's nice to hear bikes with such high mileage. Most tend to be scrapped or binned before any use able life is had out of them.

My curvey 400 has 39'000 km on it. But it won't be getting much...

Re: SV650 loud clanking/ticking (video)

Has the op looked around the exhaust - I listened to this over the video and it does sound like a blow in the exhaust more than anything.
It sounds quite tinnie - Hard to tell on a video though.

Re: electric motorcycles

I guess you could claim that the average commute is 13 miles each way. So if the battery holds up 20 miles of the 26 mile round trip then technically the last 6 miles at 30mpg may well be close the...

Re: electric motorcycles

I don't know how you'd swap out the batteries. Have you seem how much a 24 kwh pack weighs. It's not light even in lithium chemistry.

Considering most batteries are now much bigger than that...
