It does make it neater but you can make it keyless with a simple resistor and spend the money you save on something else. Put it towards another set of tyres or brake pads ;-)

I have a 46 tooth Talon Aluminium sprocket that I took off my minitwin.

The pins should be an eccentric cam type arrangement so you can turn the pins and tighten up the insert to create a good seal.
