Re: How was your day?

Bugger, wonder why it's only on 2? Hopefully it is a simple earthing issue. GT380s & 550s can give similar problems as the motors are similarly rubber-mounted. From the factory, they run an earth...

Re: It's here

Looks fabulous, enjoy her!

Manual tap conversion is a good idea, the vac tap on my 380 used to occasionally stick slightly open when the bike was switched off and parked. Fortunately it used to...

Re: Protective gear

When I crashed on diesel earlier this year, my kevlar jeans had CE armour at the knees. Knees bruised black and blue but I swear without the pads, I'd have cracked my kneecaps or worse, damaged the...

Re: more of my old bikes

Unusual to see a 400/4 with the upgrades but not in F2 colours.

I had a crack on one over 20 years ago but didn't get on with it, I felt like I was perched on top of it rather than sitting 'in'...

Suzuki engineers talk about developing the Gen 3 SV

Interesting little video. Apparently they made the seat deliberately hard

Re: 1979 Suzuki X5 Long term rebuild

That's great news. Those needles on the left of the pic aren't really needles at all, they're more like pop rivets :)

Re: E5 ethanol

Good article, thanks. It's going back 5 years or so now, but my old GT380 ran perfectly well on the E5 that was in the pumps at the time. The bike would often be not run for a couple of months over...

What a Gen 3 'S' model could look like

A guy over at SVRider converted his Gen 3 into a track bike using mostly off-the-shelf parts. Personally, I think it looks absolutely stunning, what do you guys think?

Re: Gladius Comfort

@RiffRaff - nice ride video passing High Hunslet beacon on the road out of Walkington, there ;):D

That's my old stamping ground, I was born & raised in 'ull.

Re: Gladius Comfort

It's amused me for a long time that the Sharp ratings are often argued against / dismissed by some riders because some helmets by Arai, Shoei and other expensive brands don't score highly ... or at...

Re: 1979 Suzuki X5 Long term rebuild

That could be the spannies causing the fluffiness ... it's a sweeping generalisation but if a stroker starts easily from cold and isn't burning gearbox oil, the crank seals are usually fine. And...

Re: Bike died - SV650 2016 AL7

Definitely do this, although I'd be very surprised if the bike has used any. I changed the oil on my AL7 last week (5,000 miles since buying it) and the level never changed.

Re: Bike died - SV650 2016 AL7

Don't listen to the dealer's bullsh*t, these bikes are watercooled and designed to run in climates like California and Southern Europe where it's mid-30s / early 40s celsius for the entire summer. ...

Re: Bitsers

Ha! There was a hybrid featured in Classic MC Mechanics ages ago which was a Kawa H2 750 triple in a Norton frame. The owner called it 'Three in a 'bed'

Re: Life and warranties

Bugger :(

Despite the gear indicator, I still find myself trying to change to 7th occasionally, which shows how valuable it is.

In contrast, the LED gear indicator on my 1976 GT380 was still...

Sunday stupidity

I was heading home from a cracking run to Bala, via Chester and Northwich. Approaching Northwich I caught up with a Busa and a Speed Triple at some lights, and we rode together for a while at a fair...

Re: Riding an SV

Hi and welcome. No mick-taking here, every SV rider has at some point (and usually several times per ride) tried to change from 6th to 7th, it's because the mid-range torque is strong so you always...
