Re: HMRC - it's tax time again

Sounds familiar. And I'm also glad to be back on PAYE partly for that reason. Still got a few years before retirement but will stick with fixed term contracts or, at a push, umbrella deals until I...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

They're worth getting. I've had cashback from Sony twice in that way as its often the only way to get a better price.

Re: The All New Megathread

Brighton is very PC now so that sort of thing would be highly frowned on.

Re: XSR700 part 2

Quite like those. Trouble is I like the convenience of a topbox and I don't think it would look quite right even with one of Givi's smaller ones on it...

He he he... P R I C K L Y is clearly a word the swear filter does not like :D

Sounds like we both had exhausting days Gary. Sitting here with a morning cuppa with some sore shoulders. Glad I...

Re: The all new slap bang up to date photo of the day 2022

Ma and pa-in-law used to go with a bunch of their mates each year as one of them used to row for Shrewsbury School. It's right on our doorstep (ish) but we've never actually been. The traffic can be...

Re: The All New Megathread

Evening Gary. Spent the day trimming the monster beech hedge down one side of the back garden. Not used to climbing ladders so my legs are now killing me. Hedge looks nice so it's all worth it.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Had that on a mobile deal once - onus was on me to remember to make a claim in the right window every x months. I did but it was a hassle and I avoid such schemes now whenever possible.

Re: The All New Megathread

My neighbour has seen one recently coming to a feeding station they set up. They have an infra red trail camera thing and have lovely pics of all sorts of nocturnal visitors as well as hedgehogs....

Re: The All New Megathread

Evening all. I just spotted a bat flittering round the garden. First time this year. We were worried it had either died or moved on as we only ever see one but normally from May onwards.

Re: The Veg Plot.

Nice. Carrots are so temperamental for me and generally hate my slightly stony soil. Last year I set them off in cardboard tubes and transplanted them with reasonable success but now I can only get...

Re: Rabbits.

Marlow is just over the M40 from me - it's our posh neighbour.

The Kites have done so well since being reintroduced here in the Chilterns 30 years ago they've spread far and wide. Although they...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Council posts can so often be filled with jobsworth types who are marking time until retirement so I'm glad your contact is not like that Gary.

Re: Old crash helmets

Didn't think of that before I found a couple of rather mouldy old lids of mine in the garage a few months ago. I simply binned them.

Re: The All New Megathread

Oh Craig! I'd love to visit "that" viaduct one day (Gary, I'll need a hand learning to say it properly) partly because there is a village called Trevor very nearby. We kept saying we'd go when we...

Re: Imperial units

I am five feet ten, on a good day - no idea what that is in metres. But, I'm 85 kilograms, on a good day - not sure how many stones that is. Quite honestly I don't care about the mix. And I only know...

Re: A bit of a sesiwn

Had to dig out my Win 10 laptop so I could watch this - my Android tablet does not have Flash apparently.

Sounded great Gary. Found my toe tapping a large box that lives under my desk to give it...

Re: The All New Megathread

Evening Gary. Currently enjoying the late afternoon warmth on the patio with something amber and American, as opposed to Scottish for a change.

Been out for a spin today to one of those pile them...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I need to get a few more miles under my wheels to make sure I can get as far as Barmouth in one piece. It'll be my longest trip in ages (thanks Covid) so I'm a smidge rusty. A bit like my knees...

Re: The All New Megathread

We had hail and thunder in Cowley. Had quite a good view of it from the massive office windows on the third floor too. Bit noisy mind.

Nice now I'm back home. And it will have washed in the lawn...
