It is function of it. Curvy tensioner has a threaded bar down the middle, pointy one has a ratchet pawl.

Curvy one you need to rotate it round to slacken it off, pointy one you take the spring out...

Don't just go start putting random formulations (a lot of which are snake oils) in your oil before actually fixing the fault.

Running your oil low did not wear your cam chain out, no bloody way....

Depends if you took spring out before removing tensioner

Pointy engine tensioner is nothing like that cbr one

Cam chain is a big job, I can't remember completely but I think it may mean removing the head.

I did one on a K5 or therabouts. Other option could be a broken cam chain guide/tensioner follower...

If you can be arsed bringing it up to Bacup when I'll be at work I'll have a listen to it but doubt I'll have time to actually work on it
