I think it's to do with the grade they put down. coarse will cope with the weather better. highlands roads are rough (coarse) as hell but no potholes. downside is its not as grippy due the grain and...

There for support..... Riders become tripods so they don't drop the bikes on the start.

Nope, make sure it's clean first. Will be fine dude. Try sealing to items together then, after it's set try take them apart.
