Re: New tech chain

I saw this thread elsewhere recently and had to comment about the claims of 'zero maintenance', tbh... I'm not convinced of the claim, a chain goes through an extremely hard time with repeated...

Re: crash/fall over protection

I have a curvy 'S' and the kit on mine use the two upper sets of engine bolts, so basically they have double the fixing points joined by a thick alloy bar which the actual slider mounts to in between...

Re: Attention Scallywags

All scary stuff there! Never had a wobble or a weave on any of my bikes ranging fro the 70's to present day!
Only ever had one 'tank slapper' and that was a proper tank slapper... not just a...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Nice looking rear sets, was toying with the idea of buying some nice sparkly gold/silver ones, will probably wait till I get my top curvy 'S' yoke sorted/modified for drag bars then that will give me...

Talking Re: The SV

Exactly that .... bang for buck ... pretty much unbeatable.
Fickle ! Would be a mild way of describing me with bikes, I'm more of a total tart! My SV probably weighs 5LB more in carnuba wax alone.

Re: The SV

I can't really think of a single bike I've owned that comes close to the SV for all round fun, 90% of all my previous bikes have all been a bit of a 'one trick pony', great at what they did in one...

Re: The SV

I personally wouldn't describe it as 'lightweight' tbh, well balanced maybe but defo not lightweight.
But as said above, it does lots of things very well and with a bit of expenditure in the right...

Re: The SV

Kind of have to agree ... it's not the best bike I've ever had (in terms of performance or handling) and doesn't really shine in any particular area (apart from the low to midrange grunt) but imo it...

Curvy tre mod

Re: BMW won't be amused

[QUOTE=DJ123;3119646]I think you'll find there's currently a world wide issue which has been going on for nearly a year now, and is still

I have known a few younger bikers with restricted...

Re: BMW won't be amused

As soon as it hits the road it's going to 'self destruct' anyway, the Chinese can copy just about anything ... except build quality and reliabilty!!

Re: Curvy alternative bulbs

Thanks for all the helpful info, they seem to have a really good write up. Quite pricey though but I suppose if they do the job it's all good. Hopefully I shouldnt have any further reg rec problems...

Re: New helmet, new perceptions....

Well ... I did a bit of testing today with my Scorpion exo air, whilst riding about 60mph, pushed myself as far upright as I could without letting go of the clipons and hey presto ... wind noise all...

Curvy alternative bulbs

Hi all, I'm looking to upgrade my curvy 'S' headlight bulbs, specifically to LED. Has anyone done the same and had good results from the LED conversion?
If so ... what make/type have you used?...

Re: 2nd Gen (2010) Rectifier

I have the exo air, it has the pump up cheek pads, have to say the overall package is as good as any of my previous lids ... Arai, Shoei, AGV etc. Its very light too. Not sure whether it's the actual...

Re: New helmet, new perceptions....

You're not wrong, the Scorpion exo air is a great lid, but what you have read is pretty much spot on imo.
A little tight atm across forehead ( will probably soften with use) and the noise! My ears...

Re: zero maintenance chain

I get the hardness thing, assuming the sprockets were similarly coated then it may well dramatically reduce maintenance from metal to metal contact, I do however doubt it would do anything to reduce...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

That looks pretty awesome, exactly what I have planned for my curvy S, the clipons are ok around town but journeys are killing my old bones! What top yoke did you use? And ...??. Did you have to...
