Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Finished fixing up a much neglected VFR800 I picked up recently. It was in a real state. It's still not perfect but pleased enough with the transformation.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

This bike only had 2k miles on it and had numerous issues.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Finally got the KTM 790 taken back and refunded by the dealer. I didn't mention it as it was an ongoing process I didn't want to jeapordise, but it had serious issues. The main one being intermittent...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I do whenever possible, but sometimes you can't take 7 hours to do a 4 hour journey.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

It is. I've almost had to sell a couple of times now but have managed to hold onto it. Difficult as it sits under a cover for four months of the year. I've used it for longer distance journeys but it...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Not today, but yesterday. Got the Street Triple out of hibernation. It's been long enough since I rode it that I was surprised by how good it is again.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I'm actually selling the shock as I had to let the bike go a few months back. I did fit remove and refit and then remove the shock again. It's the one with the remote compression canister and the...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

They also often have good history records of shocks they've sold. I was able to take my VFR one in and get a full history of the shim stack adjustments, valving changes, spring rate advice and what...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Nitron do a brilliant job. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality and service.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Test rode one of those very red bikes today. The morning looked like another storm, high winds and lashing rain. By the time I was out on the test ride the roads were bone dry, the wind had stopped...

Ha, priorities!

Have to admit, I liked the look of the second one you listed as it had outside covered area for working on bikes :-)

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Almost out of the January Xmas financial aftermath and finally found some money to insure the DRZ. So, out for a (very slippery) ride on it today. I think the roads were slippier than the trails.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Prices of bits and bikes we stock have gone up hugely. £350 basic bike is now £450. Parts at around £8 are now £12+. I'm quite suprised at some of the new RRPs from the distributors when I get out...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Good news Chris. Crazy that it's become normal to have to push for any security in a job now. I had to push for 10 years to finally be employed rather than self employed in my job.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Still trying to convince my boss that he's effectively giving us a pay decrease by not changing it for over a year now, when cost of living has gone up considerably. Drawing a blank though.
