The latest video is a Nissan variable compression engine which I didn't know...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Just tried to call them. 9 minutes of automated blather then: "We are experiencing technical issues and are unable to continue with your call, please call again later".

F1 owners bought MotoGP

I don't follow racing anymore so it doesn't bother me. I looked at a 3 day pass (Silverstone) for F1 and it's £340 versus £110 for MotoGP so that doesn't bode well.
I used to like (bike) racing for...

Re: The All New Megathread

I have just got the GSX out of the garage. My riding friend is busy so it will be a solo ride today. Our skies are not quite so clear as yours on the west side, sun is a bit hazy (but I'll take it...

Re: Oral B toothbrush battery replacement

Toothbrush now back in operation, yay! Unfortunately I don't qualify for the Toothbrush Repair Certificate since I tried to dismantle it from the wrong end.

For future intrepid tinkerers I...

Re: SV650S project

Welcome. You have set yourself some impressive tasks (disclaimer: none of which I've done). Fortunately, it's a fairly well trodden path and using google to search this site reveals many threads:...

Oral B toothbrush battery replacement

Anyone tried it? I have a couple of Braun/Oral B toothbrushes the older one is NiCd but the newer one (which is at least 8 years old) takes a NiMH (nickel metal hydride). This is the one I changed....

Warship

I've been watching Warship (series 3) on Ch5 which is an older program. It follows HMS Northumberland, a type 23 frigate.

I feel it doesn't show the frigate in the best light as the drama of...

Re: Gsx-8R

Will do, although I won't be getting them fitted immediately.

One thing I didn't mention about my dealer visit was the interesting (to me) bikes he'd taken in p/x:

Suzuki X5 200, Suzuki X7...

Gsx-8R

Our ride today took us near my Suzuki dealer so we popped in for me to look at the GSX-8R. I like it better than the 8S, the front end looks much neater. When I sat on one it wasn't an extreme...

Caught a McLaren on my GSX yesterday

I suppose, in the spirit of full disclosure, I should add it was stopped at a railway crossing. It was just sat there emitting vast quantities of heat rearwards and a loudish burble noise. Which...

Re: 60°F/16°C March 13 Cleethorpes

They removed the bike parking a while back, I don't know why, bikes have always been around that area. Bikers would either visit the Hawaiian Eye cafe (Hawaii? really?) or risk The Submarine pub (no...

60°F/16°C March 13 Cleethorpes

Took the SV out for a ride in this incredibly mild weather (for mid March). The intermittent sunshine was nice but it was very blustery which took some of the fun away.
Due to my latest charging...

Charging oddity

I have a single LED charge monitor. In normal riding it is solid green, when you leave the bike it will eventually switch to blinking green, then blinking orange as the batt voltage drops.
