Ive got power to both of the coils but I am struggling to find the orange wire with red stripe. I have an orange wire with a green band around it & looking at the wiring diagram thats the only orange...

When I turn the ignition on the FI light is only on for a few seconds on the left of the dash as you look at it, it goes off before I hit the starter button. The dash remains the same without the FI...

FI comes on solid with the ignition on, no blinking, FI light goes when I hit the starter button

Yes the FI light comes on when I turn the ignition on & the procedure is exactly as you said. I was beginning to come to the same conclusion as you about the ECU, i will see if i can pick up a cheap...

I realised that it is not getting fuel, but no spark as well, what could be a common fault?
