Re: Oil burning after laid up

Some one has used a,"Honing" tool on the cylinders in an attempt to get some more mileage out of them.I used one on a set of barrels on one of my old Hondas.Worked a bit in oil reduction if done...

Re: SV650 2018 Review

They don't sound bad either.Mine was 29.95.It's browning a bit on top and the little strap things around the case vibrated a bit but I cured that with the same Exhaust sealant I used to seal the 30...

Re: SV650 2018 Review

Re: SV650 2018 Review

I have a feeling that in 10 or 15 years time and with whatever possible iterations of SVs are around people will look back at these versions with the same fondness I have for my,"Curvy" :)

They is...

Re: 2006 650s fuel pipe leak

Re: 2006 650s fuel pipe leak

Re: 2006 650s fuel pipe leak

Not suffered from it on this bike but I just measured the Internal diameter of pipes on my old Hondas and bought some fuel pipe of eBay years ago and made my own.Worth while fitting and in-line...

Re: SV650 2018 Review

I enjoyed both videos.I think they confirm what most of us know that ride an SV for more than a demo.Easily enough power, light and nimble and secure cornering and loads of smiles-per-miles :)

I...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I've been using MotoBatt AGM batteries for around 10 years.I like the fact they are Fire-and-forget e.g come fully charged and sealed and as you say their CCA is excellent even in cold weather.I...

Re: Noisy Cam chain?

I too would be concerned if mine was that loud. Here's a couple of sound bites of my 1999 Curvy with 22K on the engine.

First one with original exhaust and second one with the Chinaprovich Slip-on...

Re: Cooling fan

I still disagree.I've just checked my coolant level in the Rad and it was low so no coolant has been drawn back in.

Car cooling systems have two radiators and are sealed from the atmosphere...

I recently replaced the 20 year old R/R on my Curvy with a Mosfet one as it the Regulator side went high and took out my Rev counter and damaged the battery. With a bit of Electronic Trickery I've...

Re: Battery Drain

You are going to have to do some diagnostics. It could just be a faulty battery but you can't trust that assumption. If you have a WSM look to see how to test your Stator and R/R before thinking of...

Re: Bolt upgrades???

Until you get a better answer an old trick I've used on old tatty bolts is to use a Brass Wire Brush Drill attachment on them.It removes the corrosion and leaves a nice burnished finish. Then a dab of...

Re: Erratic ignition now no power, no start

I was mistaken when I posted my 70 VAC as mine is the 300w Stator on the Curvy. The,"S" versions I believe use a 275w Stator.

Is it possible some one has upgraded the Stator to a higher powered one?

Re: regulator

When you say fine do you mean it's fitted and working.I would just check the polarity of the Regulator wires.

The negative pin on the Regulator should go to ground.
