In NI they require such anyway. The PSNI upper chiefs put out a bulletin though saying anyone riding an ebike sensibly wouldn't be hassled. About a week later a chap was arrested for riding one...

Can be a hateful job to do unless there's easy access to an ignition live, after having a Bibio gizmo I don't like wiring direct to battery. I had to take most of my front end apart to get at the OEM...

Par for the course in supertwins. The underslung caliper assists with wheel changes and as we all know the SV suspenders and brakes are budget at best.
