Re: What a small world!!

Amazing, and I thought I was doing something extraordinary by arranging to meet up and ride with them on Wednesday. It is indeed a very small world.

Re: Sorry, who are you?

Not going for the Tracer as I don't need a touring bike any more, the Versys took me everywhere I'd ever planned to go and did 19 countries with me in the seat (13 of them in 3 days). My newly...

Sorry, who are you?

Just thought I'd poke my head in and say hello :-)

I'm still running that ugly Versys, but it's being sold soon to make way for a 2017 model MT-09 in blue.

Re: Crashed! Rear ended a Car

Regardless of why he was driving so slowly - which I think it's fair to say he was doing because the sun was directly in his eyes - you were travelling too fast for the conditions. If you can't see...

Re: It's been a while

Nice to see some old names cropping up.

I'm ok, been keeping a low profile in general, no longer in the bike trade as such but still involved with them in another way (engineer for insurance...

As title.

It's copper (ginger) from a K3 650S. Not absolutely perfect but intact with no cracks or deep gouges. All mounting points and lugs are complete and undamaged. The paint is worn through...

Re: K-Tech SV fork springs. 8.5Nm Part number 35-425-85

Definitely progressive springs, coils wound tighter at one end.

ManMango, I've seen the message thanks, but Muzikill got in first on the thread even if the muppet didn't pm me. You have second...

K-Tech SV fork springs. 8.5Nm Part number 35-425-85

Hi, as the title says, a pair of K-Tech progressive springs for a pointy SV rated at 8.5Nm. They were fitted to my old 2005 K5 S when I bought it but I found them a little too harsh for my 11 stone,...

Re: Any ER6 owners in here?

I'll tell you the real story of why you see manky looking ER6s... they get used more all year round because they are essentially easier to ride than SVs and the faired ones are a damn sight more...

She's alright I suppose. Bet the org ladies have bags more personality though, and some of them look just as good with the lights off ;-)

Quick one - are the Renntec racks for the SV650 2003 onwards the same as the SV1000 2003 onwards?

Re: Who has the highest mileage on their bike?

Back in 2006 I gave a 1983 Honda CB250RS away to a friend, it had recorded 192,000 miles. I was given it in 2001 when it had 135,000 on it and I used it to do a 100 mile round trip every day plus a...

Re: Buying a CAT D vehicle

Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger boy.

I don't work for any insurance company, I just help them dispose of total loss vehicles.

Re: Buying a CAT D vehicle

After a good search around on the net, it appears my colleagues at work were wrong and bikes still don't need a VIC if you want to put a Cat C back on the road.

A little light reading for you:

Re: Buying a CAT D vehicle

Apparently so, so I was told at work; the ABI classifications and returning of of Cat C vehicles to the road has undergone a small shake up recently.

Re: Buying a CAT D vehicle

No, because no matter what the history of your vehicle, it's still what it is and you are still who you are... at that point. It's only when you want to make a claim that it becomes worthless, if you...

Re: Buying a CAT D vehicle

Whether you insure fully comp or not is up to you. It all depends on the value and how much you are prepared to lose. If you trash the car through you own fault are you wealthy enough to lose the...

Re: Buying a CAT D vehicle

One other thing - Insurance values.

Like Wideboy said, and vehicle that's already got a Cat C or D against it is worthless in the eyes of an insurance company. If that vehicle gets damaged again...

Re: Buying a CAT D vehicle

I'll just settle a few misunderstandings here, because my job is dealing with ABI classifications (Categories for those who call them that). I work for the largest remarketers of salvage vehicles in...
