Re: Gear Issues after crash

While you're at it you may as well consider what else to do while it's in bits. You'll have the top ends off so you could go for Hayabusa pistons, which IIRC are lighter and give a little compression...

Re: Vintage film cameras

I think so, will bomb in there at the last minute, trouble is it's Sunday just before 9pm and they've added the details to the ad that the meter and shutter work. So, odds are against me but will...

Re: Vintage film cameras

I finally got around to glueing the bits of leatherette on the Automatica, am just going to touch up the paint a bit and it's done. the top and bottom edges of the film door are paints, that's all I...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Another Durst Automatica 123797225944 currently cheap but ending Sunday night. Am thinking of it (would be the third one!) as I have a spares camera although I think this one just needs fettling,...

Re: Gear Issues after crash

Getting the engine out is going to take some doing, splitting the cases is a massive job. They split vertically (left and right halves) so you have to strip the top ends as well first.
So, you've...

Re: Gear Issues after crash

It would be odd for gearbox problems to be caused by a crash I think. Looking at the star wheel, neutral is the tooth with the top chopped out of it. The gearbox needs to be turning to change, they...

Re: Fuel Tank Range

Maybe they weigh more than me. An engine running rich can also eat through a surprising mount of fuel.

Re: Fuel Tank Range

If you can, get a GPS speedo for your phone and you can check it. In stock trim my curvy reads about 3% too high. As for efficiency, a smaller motor has lower pumping losses, but yes otherwise you...

Re: Fuel Tank Range

I get about 180 miles, and when the light comes on, it needs 3 gallons/13.5 litres to fill up. Best bet is fill it up, ride for say 100 miles, fil it again and work out your mpg. 60mpg gives 180...

Re: Breaking my K2.

You should give an indication of the things you are going to flog - colour of fairings, which sorts of things, and suspension or engine parts, etc. and you'll get a lot more interest.

Re: Ethanol E15 in US

Its green credentials are shaky (much better from sugar cane but US doesn't have the climate) but at least it's one less thing being pumped out of the ground. In Europe there is up to 5% ethanol on...

Re: Vintage film cameras

It was a good day, my knees seem to be feeling it though! We climbed about 350m plus a little up and down in between. Rain came along as we got back to Castleton so we fought it off in the...

Hi mate, I've got one, it is good apart from at the bottom left corner it has been plugged with epoxy. It's been like that for 10 years and not leaked. If you want give me an email address I can send...

Re: K3 cam tensioners in curvy - power loss and exhaust afterfire

Did you turn the engine with the CCTs removed? It does sound like the timing is a bit off, or the camchain is very tight. The K3 ones go straight in, no messing around. You could try relieving the...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Vitessa looks nice, not sure what a normal value is. Are you thinking of using it to repair your other one, or did you fix that? I didn't buy anything, had a bit of a look but wasn't inspired/misled.

Re: Quick Shift

Everything is something to go wrong, that's just pessimism. You're placing a lot of strain on the gearbox by shifting under load, that's the whole point of the quickshifter, to momentarily reduce the...
