Re: The All New Megathread

Afternoon all. Patio relaxation is in effect right now as I recover from removing and/or cutting back the overgrown shrubs in the front garden at Trev Towers. Still got lots to do but at my age it...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I saw Saturn and Jupiter last night as it was nice and clear. Even at 350mm on a 1.5 crop sensor I could not get a clear image but never mind. Lovely evening to sit outside with lovely Lady Poppy...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Good luck with the role Chris.

My GOTD is directors that want you to be a mind reader. "Make me a dashboard for the entire programme, you know what I need". No I don't. I told them I'd draft up...

Re: The all new slap bang up to date photo of the day 2020!

I'll put it on my list. Brum is easy for me to get to as it's straight up the Chiltern mainline from Wycombe to Moor Street. Assuming I can pluck up the courage to get on a train again that is...

Re: The all new slap bang up to date photo of the day 2020!

Finally got round to uploading a few pics from last weekend's trip to Brighton to see the Monkey. Our hotel was very near the bohemian area of London Road and some of the graffiti art is quite good...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Not had that problem with the "ecobead" stuff we had installed when the extension was built in 2007. Will look out for it though just in case. Most of the ants are in the lawn at Trev Towers...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

It's seems to be Flying Ant Day. It usually seems to happen everywhere on the same day so I hope you're not all getting as irritated by the wretched things as I am. Well aware they can't help it...

Re: The Veg Plot.

Dug up the last of my early spuds this afternoon - having some for dinner tonight. Yum. Hope yours come out well Gary.

Turning the heaps is a job I need to do as well. Bay 1 is pretty full and...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

First pint in a pub and first meal out in four months. Went to see The Munchkin in Brighton yesterday and stopped over at a nearby hotel. Both the pub and especially the restaurant were very quiet...

Re: Tea and sarnies ride Friday

I should have been packing my topbox and bungy-ing a bag to the pillion ahead of setting off to Barmouth tomorrow :(

Ended up cancelling my days off but you enjoy your ride out Gary. Hope the...

Re: The All New Megathread

The list will probably look horrible on your screen but see below. I didn't try to add the condition or other comments I've been adding to the list ahead of sending it all off for quotes but if you...

Re: The Veg Plot.

Nice. Have been eating a lot of lettuce before it all bolts in the warm weater but the early spuds were very poor due to the dry spring. First lot of beetroot are ready though which will be nice. ...

Re: The All New Megathread

Good evening world. Been collecting together all the no-longer-used camera gear here at Trev Towers. Got two 35mm compacts, two 35mm SLRs (four lenses between them), two compact digicams and my...

Er..... OK. Clearly a silly parody but I'm surprised they're on a BBC website without some sort of backlash from someone who thinks someone else might be offended...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I've had experience of working at home, near home and anything up to two hours commute over the years. Have got to say that being at or near home leads to feeling a bit trapped in one place after a...

I'm getting on well with my new Sony so have decided to go all in and complete the move by passing on my Canon setup. It has served me well and still takes excellent pictures so whoever gets it will...

Re: K1 locked pillion seat

I had to do the same once with my 2000 model. Use a piece of stout wire and go fishing for the catch. If I recall I used a coat hanger and went in from the front under the passenger seat.

Good...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I'm on a roll with the gripes.

I had to cough up 30 for a new left-hand twist-grip for my ageing Raleigh at the start of the week. I have gear ratios again now so that's nice. But riding about...
