Re: Vintage film cameras
I saw a couple on ebay starting at £85 or make offer, made offers but were rejected. The other one I have been looking at is £109.99 plus post and will have six months warranty.

Re: Vintage film cameras
I'm just after a normal prime type lens. The Oly 17mm is too expensive as is the 25mm. I have the Olympus 14-42 mk type (not EZ) and the 20mm is in budget and a good performer. I'll check out MPB and...

Re: Vintage film cameras
I've got a split screen in mine, I swapped it out from a dead OM2. I'm going to be packing up a box of cameras to send to Rob, he offered to fix my Pentax SV, fix and convert my 35RC to LR44 and...

Re: Vintage film cameras
Apparently the circuit board fitted is a later revision with the improved battery drain so hopefully it'll be OK. I was really confused at first as I couldn't really see anything through the...

Re: Vintage film cameras
Man I didn't realise how picky OM4s can be with their batteries. The OM4 was acting up after being serviced but before sending it back I tried a brand new set of batteries and all is good. How is...

Re: Vintage film cameras
Thing is, when you start noticing an issue with the prism it's too late and the damage is done. It would need preventative maintenance to sort. The project is a Voigtlander Bessa 1, I've had the rear...

Re: Vintage film cameras
I managed to sort out the donor camera, the issue was the winder much needing a drop of oil. All sorted now! I'll probably move it on at some point as I really don't need four XE-1s! I've noticed the...

Re: Vintage film cameras
Actually they aren't too bad, the tops are modular so you don't need to strip the asa dial or the speed dial and winder to sort the prism. All in all to strip, swap the prism and reassemble both...

Re: Vintage film cameras
The donor XE-1 is actually fully functional apart from the wind lever sticking, it will just need a drop of oil to sort. The meter works and all it would need is a prism. So I now have two working...

Re: Vintage film cameras
The XE-1 arrived today, I forgot to bring some batteries in to test it. So far the prism is good, so that will complete the restoration of the one you gave me Yoko. The only issue I can find with the...

Apparently so. Not sure if it has marked the inside of the lens though. Its a Voigtlander Bessa 1 and it comes with the 6x4.5 mask. I have another Bessa shutter I can nick bits from if needed. Have...

Hopefully I've managed to find a junker XE-1 with a good prism to transplant into the camera you sent me Yoko. I might have to give up in the Pentax SV, everything is clean but I cannot get the...
