Re: Cooling fan

My memory of cooling systems is as follows:-
The radiator cap is just a sealing cap enabling radiator filling, the thermostat just allows water to circulate around the cooling system at a preset...

Re: Bandit runs poorly.

Last time I had a similar problem it was a restricted fuel feed. Carb float chambers filled up slowly, so bike kept stopping as they emptied.

Re: DRZ flat battery, charging questions.

That Multimeter must be made of gold for over £90!!
I bought an identical one from ebay at around £1, but £6 postage. Some years ago, but it is still a good 'un

Re: Fitting front wheel bearings?

Hol
From your original query I assume that you put the RHS brg in part way and then the LHS bearing and pulled them together with a bolt. If so, that will not work because the LHS bearing will not...

Re: Got myself an SV650S!!

Yes, you are right, it was a bit of a wind up! I struggled to find time to clean the bike, let alone modify it.

Cheers

Re: Got myself an SV650S!!

How strange SamN - you bought a lovely bike because it was standard, and now want to change it. Does this mean that, by your own buying standards, you are going to modify/devalue it?
Yep, I am an...

Re: Suzuki Oil Filter tests.

Interesting stuff yoda. One minor point is that the anti drain back valve is there to ensure the engine gets oil as soon as it is started, and not wait for the filter bowl to fill. (How many people...

Re: Scottoiler - Dual Injector - Worthwhile? Waste of Money?

Thanks Mr Squid for that brilliant description of chain construction, and yes, you are right that the chain needs lubricating from one side only - with your vast experience you would rarely if ever...

Re: Front tyre pressure dropping

From earlier comments about the accuracy of forecourt gauges etc, as long as you use the same one every time it will show up loss of pressure even though it may be inaccurate.
As Villiers implies,...

Re: Scottoiler - Dual Injector - Worthwhile? Waste of Money?

I found the Scottoiler twin injector excellent. Easier to mount, stays where you put it, and after initial priming it didnt need repriming after the fluid ran low. Could be set to adequately lube the...

Re: Subtle Mods for SV650K6 (New Rider)

Hi Mr Endo,

No-one seems to have mentioned that you can fit a fenda extenda without removing the mud guard, never mind the wheel!
Do the essential mods and them get out and ride it - doing...

Re: Scottoiler nib installation.

Have had no probs at all with a dual injector on my thou. It is quite a sturdy mounting, and the nibs stay where you put them without needing a fiddly wire insert.

Re: Bar end mirrors for SV1000S?

I fitted Chewy's spacers to my thou and could still see a lot of arm. Changed from textile to leather jacket, and that improved things a lot!

Re: Battery charging on the bike?

The Optimate Charger comes iirc with a lead and connector for permanently wiring to the battery. Dont forget to use an inline fuse close to the battery terminal if you fit one of these though.
