Psst: Wanna race?
This is a bit cheeky and if Admin remove the post, I'll understand. For years, I have been a bike fan. I have also enjoyed bike racing and, in 2019, at the crusty age of 56, I decided it was high... |

Re: gear indicator advice plz
While I realise I am six years too late, I came across this as someone I know was selling a gear indicator for a carby (I didn't think carbies could use a gear indicator). In the meantime, I have... |

Re: Dead, dead, dead
Other than having a voltmeter, USB hub and race can, the bike is standard. It looks like a weekend following wires and potentially wrapping in insulation tape, at least to start with. I'm still a... |

Re: Dead, dead, dead
Certainly worth checking, although even with its feed cable disconnected, the tacho is still reading 5,000 RPM. Thanks; it looks like there is still a way to go to get to the bottom of this. |

Re: Dead, dead, dead
Hi. No - other than a Beowulf can, the bike is completely standard. I have a new/used side stand switch which I'll fit at the weekend. Next up is the instrument cluster to be sourced. |

Re: Dead, dead, dead
Nope. Aside from an aftermarket can, the bike is completely standard. See update below, though. |

Re: Dead, dead, dead
Update: The guys in the workshop disconnected everything and then reconnected items one at a time. The side stand switch was the first issue as it was shorting, so that was replaced. Next blow came... |

Re: Dead, dead, dead
First blow was the sidestand switch. Now replaced. Second blow was when the instrument cluster was reconnected. Not yet refitted, as the bike is only being worked on between jobs. They're not sure... |

Re: Dead, dead, dead
I can only hope. Thanks for that. It's odd that when I have a car that starts playing up, I want shot of it but I love this SV so, as soon as it's up and running again, I'll be smiling. |

Dead, dead, dead
Anyone using the Dartford crossing during yesterday's rush hour (25 September) may have seen a stranded rider and SV on the tunnel approach. That, ladies and gentlemen, would have been me and my 2008... |

Re: Fitting a USB power socket
Best not do cheap, then. Directly to the battery would at least be simple and also mean nothing else is affected. |

Re: Sv 12v and usb socket
Two years down the line and I've posted an almost identical question. Sorry about that. I was hoping there might be a way to cut into the ignition line so the unit would only be live when the key is... |

Fitting a USB power socket
Hi all, I've got a 12V USB socket that I plan to fit to my '08MY SV650S. The unit has 2 x 2.1A USB ports and I have found a suitable position in the fairing to cut out the required 28mm hole. ... |
