Re: Has anybody else fitted an S1000rr shock?

I've been running my Hagon for the last 3 years/40k miles and it's been spot on.

Re: Has anybody else fitted an S1000rr shock?

If you don't want to spend Nitron/Ohlins money then pick up a Hagon or YSS shock that's actually designed for the bike for a little over £200.

Re: Throttle Valve Seizing

Put some proper lubricant on it now you've cleaned it with WD40, even just some light oil will be better than nothing.

Re: SV major service

Considering I've been quoted around £250 just to check the valve clearances from more than one indy around here that seems a decent price for the clearances and general service bits.

Re: Too good to be true (lthr jacket pricing)

That website is dodgier than a £4 note. The confirmation is in the fact it has no security when you come to checkout.

Re: rear tyre on front - mot issues

Funnily enough one of the proposals for changes to the MOT in May is to remove the failure due to tyres not fitted according to the directional marker but for the time being as already stated it'll...

Re: SVBMX Build Thread (99 SV650)

The only problem with those mufflers is the bands and rivets aren't stainless so they do start to rust after a while, but apart from that for £30 you could do a lot worse.

Re: Service history

My K5 came with pretty much no service history, was a nice tidy example though meaty tyres, couple of bits done like crash bungs and exhaust but nothing too flashy. I've since doubled and then some...

Re: What's with bike insurance this year?!

My renewal was £30 cheaper than last year and £20 cheaper than even the same insurer offered as a new customer. They even threw in some kit cover and protected NCB which I didn't have. Miracles do...

Re: Pointy air intake upgrade

You can bodge a Renegade style kit by just removing the airbox lid and using some washers to hold the filter in place if I remember rightly it's just a frame that fits over the filter so you can...

Re: MGT061 but not restricted

The Swiss are hot on everything involving their vehicles, there's no ifs buts or maybes you must be 100% correct on all your paperwork and every part must be certified.

Re: Review of my SV 2005

Don't forget that 10wt oil can mean anything it could be as thin as another manufacturers 2wt or as thick as anothers 20wt

Healtech stuff always seems to get good reviews although I'd agree with bibio in general but like you say each to their own

Re: Bleed nipples

Perfect that's what I wanted someone that's used them successfully. It was actually powerhouse that I got my calipers from last year.

As long as you can still operate the brake it'll be an advisory.

Re: Coolant leak?

I was always led to believe that you don't use tap water in your cooling system as the minerals in it can block the cooling channels like limescale in your kettle.
