Well. Update for those interested. The Gilles bars are fitted, and she loves them (even before I've painted to top yoke to match).

Although I think the profile might be a bit too sporty for her...

Yeah... I think when she said "More sporty" we both had very different things in mind... I was thinking clip-ons she was thinking "Keep the current appearance but different angle bars". I was going...

Ah okay. Well that increases my hopes...

Although after I ordered them I told the Mrs, showed her a picture and she replied "I'd prefer them in chrome..."

So it's possible they'll be going back...

Definitely? Wow that's good news! But how can you be so sure? Is the new 2016 top yoke identical to the classic naked top yoke?

I had considered that, but I've read that overall it's quite uncomfortable on the SV. I may give it a try anyway. Just to see how she likes it.

Ah I didn't realise there were two models of SV on the uk market. Thanks for clearing that up.

From what i've read the S model clipon's interfere with the N model triple clamp.

So the Gilles vario bars will just fit straight on to the naked pointy without changing cables etc? They're a bit pricey, but I guess you pay for quality.
