Re: Curvy Cold Starting Needs Running Start

Don't wish to put a downer on it but I'd hold off doing too much to the bike. You have 3 points already and now a band C ticket. That's 6 points or a disqualification, and a hefty fine.

Re: Tax woes selling bike?

Since when have you paid tax on gifts from family? Do you pay tax on cash given to you at Christmas?

The all new, slap bang up to date 2018 photo a day

Re: AL7 tyre recommendations for large mileage?

I get upwards of 14,000 out of BT021 on a similar length commute.

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

10,500 miles, so I'm not ridiculously over.

Have you ever wondered how service frequencies are determined? Suzuki base theirs on a research paper carried out in America on the frequency of...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Use it all the time. Dunno what it is with this bike, I think it's allergic to being cleaned.

It's happiest when it's filthy.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I took the kill switch apart as I think water is playing up with it. Starting can take several goes. Turn the key and all the usual buzzing sounds happen, but press the starter button and although...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Of course. ACF50 didn't do the job.

It dumped the oil at about 550pm. I had no oil and no replacement filter I need the bike at 7am

I can't say enough nice words about the bike shop that...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

They don't make oil filters like they used to. 13,500 miles and my HF138 shot the oil out the front through all the rust.

Cue the obvious posts about changing filters.

Re: What to do?

New bikes on finance don't have to be dealer serviced. So long as the maintenance is done by a VAT registered garage it will suffice.

I've always run round to a back street mechanic for...

Re: Oh no, not again (speeding)

I got a new car last week. I'm still impressed by the button that limits the car to the speed limit.

Re: How long to pass a car?

I was told by a bike cop a few years ago that they didn't worry in my neck of the woods in NSL until you went over 70 and were being dangerous. Otherwise they only worried about areas with signed...

Re: Oh no, not again (speeding)

My SV Speedo over reads by 10% if GPS is anything to go by. The car is spot on though.

Re: Unnecessary use of Stinger on Bike?

Knobs.
Not surprised about a stinger on a cruise in Southend, the place fills with knobs.

The R1 rider couldn't see why the PC was in the road, there could easily have been a child on the road...

Re: The Crash Detectives - a sobering story

TBF that driver did also beat the guy to death as he lay on the road having ploughed into him with a Mustang following a chase through traffic and on pavements.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Never had a serious problem with the cable being too heavy (maybe I have a strong left wrist)

I do (very occasionally) lube the cable though with a PTFE lube.

I find lube works well with...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

It's easy enough to do. But remember to check how the old lifter was put in - they can come apart but have 3 or 4 ways they go back together, so its worth looking to see how it was before!
Loosen...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

It's not just you. I had that day on Wednesday. They all shouted and didn't talk. They all wanted to play music too loudly and loved slamming doors.
I just wanted them to vanish and let me work...
