Re: Worrying!

There is a Potter marathon on ITV2 right now - I'm watching The Half Blood Prince which is currently on advert break. He Who Should Not Be Named was in the last one a lot (Order of the Phoenix) but...

Re: Photo Comp - Chat Thread

Spot on - it's just a toy really. All of the exposures actually came out which I was amazed at to be honest. Some are hopelessly out of focus, some are blurred and some have so much light leaking...

Re: Photo Comp - Chat Thread

There's no glass in this model at all - all plastic, including the optic elements with a few screws holding it together. Fixed aperture and spring loaded shutter means the only adjustment is focus,...

My entry this month is a real hit and hope. Lady Poppy got me one of those assemble it yourself kit cameras for Chrimble. It was fun putting it...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

As I only work in my home office rarely, mainly when (like now) I am between contracts and searching, I have the greenhouse heater in here with me. Simple fan heater with a thermostat. Goes back...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I have saved myself several hundred quid by spending an hour at the bench in the garage with the DVD recorder and some screwdrivers.

After a while DVD players/recorders start to act up. Simple...

Re: 1979 Suzuki X5 Long term rebuild

That is already so cool - when it's finished and riding down the road it's going to be epic as I'm sure it will look mint based on your last few builds.

"something, something...plumbing" Fantastic!

We all love you really Tim but LPH is not the only one who's never quite sure what you mean when you talk about your job.

Re: to all the workers, a message from the bosses

This bears out my observations as well. Worked at one of our contracts where a lot of the people were ex civil servants who were on TUPE terms. As far as they were concerned they were still public...

Re: to all the workers, a message from the bosses

Companies would alter their ownership structure and would still shunt their profits to the lowest taxation country. All of the large IT companies I have worked for do this - the UK operating (Ltd)...

Re: to all the workers, a message from the bosses

Taxes have to increase, it is inevitable as the cost of supplying services keeps going up. We do indeed need to balance our spending but at some point someone will have to bite the bullet and say...

Re: to all the workers, a message from the bosses

There is nothing wrong with being paid what you're worth and it's quite right that you get paid more for taking difficult decisions and leading the company. I've seen too many people over the years...

Re: The All new Reeder Megathread

Went to a job interview today at Hovis. Their headquarters are here in High Wycombe and thinking about our departed breadman did make me smile. Considering they want someone to start on Monday it's...

Re: Photo Comp - Chat Thread

My photography mojo ebbs and flows so it depends on what mood I'm in each month. Have an idea for this month so I'll see if I get the chance to carry it out in time as it depends on the weather,...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

My BT hub (always switched on) drops out for five minutes every day between 17:45 and 18:15. Very, very annoying when you're working from home and in the middle of a Skype conference call. The...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Was nearly 1am when they finished here, and as we're in a valley they bounce back and forth around the hills making them worse. Selfish barstewards - just because you eventually got back from the...

Re: The All new Reeder Megathread

Well we survived the rubbish TV scheduling of last night and the never ending fireworks at midnight. Time to think about that resolution of being a bit more active this year. Been a bit of a hermit...

I'm just about awake now so HNY to all on the Org. May the selfish so and so's who were still letting fireworks off at almost one in the morning get a painful boil on their nether regions!

Re: Dec 18 Photo Comp - Deck the Halls
