Re: Pic of seat lock please. Gen 1.

For reference there is no difference between the tail unit of a S or a N apart from the graphics used on the plastics so the lock mechanism is the same on both.

Re: What's this?

Its a HRC rear brake reservoir.

Its lighter than OEM and as said is usually fitted to track bikes or those who have modified their bike so that aesthetically the standard reservoir does not fit. I...

Re: Friends special

Interesting little bike. Not my usual cup of tea but I would wonder over to it if it rocked up outside the local bike shop for a better look.

Re: Curvy rear shock replacement. Cheap options.

So I would recommend Nitron. Very good quality. I have one on my TZR250 and am very happy with it.

Hagon, not so pleased with the quality that I have seen, but that was mainly on chrome specials...

Re: Yamaha R7

Its about as much a R7 as a BMW Mini is a Mini. A no from me.

I'll always regret not buying that R7 in Fowlers all those years ago. Dream. Garage. Bike. This isnt.

Re: Lathe

The holders look similar, and I think they might fit but can't be sure. As you only have the 3 they probably would be better staying with the lathe. It's a fine machine at a good price you have...

Re: Lathe

Is that a Dickson Tool Post I see there? If so would you be selling the holders separately?

Re: Updated info for 02 curvy rear shock

If you are servicing the swing arm, taking it out changing the bearings or at the very least greasing them you may need something other than an Abba stand to hold the bike up...

You will also need...

Re: Updated info for 02 curvy rear shock

That reminds me, 10W oil with the Ohlins springs, yes.

If you put 15W in as thats the basic SV fork upgrade you will be pulling the front end back off the bike to change it just minutes after...

Re: 2000 curvy sv650s valve issues

Well as the engine is out...

What's your budget? And what's your mechanical appetite?

So first suggestion is a cam swap, that's using a combination of the injection and original cams, plenty...

Re: Updated info for 02 curvy rear shock

Is upgrading the suspension worth it? Yes every penny. I have an Ohlins rear on my SV and the difference is night and day. I remember riding back to back my bike and a SV with stock suspension on the...

Re: Ball Park Cost

Would you buy a streetfightered (in the traditional way) GSXR for 1200?

Yeah I wouldn't either.

Take the money and run... to a SV650.

Re: Project: 500GP

Yeah I've seen a few conversions with different engines, TZR125 looks popular. The style of frame makes it quite easy from what I understand as there is a lot of room available and the frame rails or...

Re: Project: 500GP

With the use of the TIG welder I stuck the boss I made on the lathe into the top of the tank. I'm pleased with it, no pictures of the weld bead up top as I took it all back with the Dremel as I'm not...

Re: Project: 500GP

So I'm getting a little tired of footpegs. All I have to do is a bit of finishing and then some chemical experimentation so I've decided to take a little break and turn my attention elsewhere....

Re: Project: 500GP

At the risk of tempting fate I can see the finish line in the distance for this part of the project so its time to think about the exhaust only because I need to drill the mounting hole to size on...

As usual the delay between updates and so on...

But linkages, I needed to replicate the kit linkage so bought a couple of YZ125 gear levers.

Re: Blast from the past

When I was 17 I bought one as my first bike after passing my test. I wanted a Mito but couldn't afford it so I got a blue TZR. Rode it round and learned a lot on that bike, how to corner, how to...

Re: What to do with a stripped engine?

So you have options of changing the crank and rods but thats expensive. Busa pistons need a rebore. Cam swapping is easy as is changing them for race tuned sets, removing the middle plate of the head...

Re: engine crash bungs

In which case having done ones like that before I'd happily remove and replace without any additional support.
