Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Got my bike out of hybernation. Could have gone smoother...
I was pulling it by the wheels to slide it accress the conservatory floor and line it up with the door. Then it just fell over onto the...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Cleared out the blocked fuel tank rainwater drain.
I had to do it last year too. It's the part that passes through the tank so not very easy to clean thoroughly.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Fitted a £30 second hand throttle position sensor to the Dorsoduro. What a bitch of a job! Buried right behind the headstock/airbox. And you have to unbolt it all in situ, unscrew the two 12mm nuts...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I unblocked the water drain from the fuel filler area. I tried pushing wire down it but it didn't go very far, so I had to lift the tank. Looks like the plastic tank has swollen, so it can't just...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
The Dorso has thrown up another code today, so it looks like the throttle demand sensor might need replaced. Which are not cheap!
I need to get it to a dealer to have a proper look at it and...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Made this janky OBD2 connector for the Dorsoduro thanks to some smart people on the aprilia forum, in order to find out what is causing the intermittent service lights. It gave some codes relating to...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
That doesn't look good. What if you take the legs out, check them and if they are fkd put it all back together and take it to the dealer. They're not going to know are they? That way you don't have a...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Got a DID chain tool so I could fit my new chain and sprockets. Good bit of kit!
To remove the old one I ground off the pin heads then pushed them out using the tool...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
The cans are bolted solid to the subframe. The best I could do with that is maybe put some rubber grommits. Don't know if that would help. There isn't really room for a flexi between the cat and the...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Out on the bike today it suddenly got louder and sounded like crap. I stopped and part of the sleeve gasket for the rear cylinder downpipe was lying on the swingarm. I headed home quickly to get to...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Fitted a SpeedoHealer to account for the bigger rear sprocket. You wouldn't believe where Aprilia put the connector for the speedo pickup. Wedged between the engine and the frame. The only way to see...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Yeah it seemed like the easiest way. Plus the bike is living inside just now so splashing bleach and coke everywhere isn't really an option :p
Yeah it's getting there
