Re: Cylinder Head Bolt Size

They're nothing too odd-ball. I seem to remember they're in the 12-14mm region. I may be able to check later if needed?

Re: curvy replacement reg/rec?

I bought a pattern MOSFET from this lot earlier this year, plug & play and less than a new one from Suzuki and arguably more likely to survive longer.

Re: Preload adjusters

As above, the internal diameter/pitch is ever so slightly different, so K2 caps will fit 99-02 bikes, and k3+ caps will fit 2003 onward

Re: K-Tech fork cartridges

Without a doubt that'll be a lovely front end.

However, this year I went racing with some thicker oil, modified damper rods, cheap emulators and stiffer single rate springs and the front end felt...

Re: No power after hydrolock

OK,
Is the oil level now correct? Have you checked and cleaned the carbs or are they full of oil?

Re: 2nd gen oil starvation issue fixed?

I'm guessing this is based on the recall for the early sv650 bikes. When the early 99 sv650x models came out there was not much baffling in the sump, so hard braking and accelerating could leave the...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

John,
I had a related but very odd one a few years ago, set off as normal on my SV and the front brakes felt soft, pulled over and gave them a squeeze and noted that they came up to pressure, and...

Re: Need help with my track bike

Yes the missing question here was does it turn by hand.

Before all hope is lost, have you removed the plugs and tried turning it over? You occasionally find a leaky carb has flooded a cylinder and...

Re: Wheel Alignment .... doing my head in.

If you're not riding on a completely flat and level road tyre wear is an indicator but not all that precise.

Most roads are cambered to allow water to run to the gutters, between this and a host...

Re: Supertwin?

For a minitwin you have to keep the standard fork sliders & stanchions.

For a Supertwin I believe you can use parts from other bikes as long as it's from the same manufacturer. This is why SVs end...

Re: Snetterton 300 - 13th July

I wouldn't be overly worried about the tyres not being up to the job or suiting the bike. Ron Haslam's race school used the T30 (the replacement for the 023) on their bikes. Here's avideo of him...

Re: K4 Down after 11 years

If you'd been hard on the gas with the front wheel up you wouldn't have been hit :D

First off very glad you're OK, sounds quite scary for all concerned!

In all seriousness sometimes there is...

Re: Curvy Carb Question

Yeah none of us has ever done anything that silly.

On an unrelated note an org member not a million miles from here was stripping a pair of forks a few weeks ago. The first one came apart nice and...

Idle speed high enough? should be ~1,500 or so.

Plus is this not a track bike? ;)

Re: cams

Just a heads up. In Minitwin regs you can swap curvy for pointy cams, but not fit intake cams into the exhaust as per the BARF thread. Fine for the road though.

Curvy cams are labelled A,B,C,D I...
