Re: Vintage film cameras

Just seen the Canon, the famous dream lens. How much was it going for? The lens was used for filming Army of the Dead, though you can tell the CGI bits as they have all the DoF.

Re: Vintage film cameras

Sounds great! I had a nice long break over Christmas, a month off as I was changing jobs. Could have done it for longer!

Re: Vintage film cameras

Snaps got back to me about the pics, said it looked like transfer from the backing paper, but they couldn't see anything they had done wrong. Contacted Ilford and sent a couple of pics, they got back...

Re: lets talk coffee

We've been getting beans from the York roastery for years, they have loads and can sell you different grinds for different brewing methods. Our favourite is the South American...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Ah right, I did wonder! Checked my Contessa LKE, the one I took to Spain. The shutter speeds are slow, so 1/30 is more like 1/15, so my indoor pics have a lot of motion blur. The focus is miles off...

Re: Frosty the Snowman

Not watched it but just clicked through to see if it was another spoof on the Hitler video, shame it isn't, in some ways!

Re: Vintage film cameras

There's a manual on Learn Camera Repair. It looks like some screws to adjust, if I've read it right - I think normally you have to shim things?

Re: Vintage film cameras

I found out how to adjust the focus, will have a twiddle over Christmas. Left things a bit late so have been cleaning a K1000 I picked up over summer, it was grottier than I'd thought, all works fine...

Re: Vintage film cameras

I've checked it and it shows why I don't use viewfinder cameras, I can't estimate distance to save my life. It's a little off, the scale matches the film plane but the focus screen tells you to focus...

Re: Vintage film cameras

The SRT arrived yesterday, lovely piece of kit. Did either of you shoot with it? I haven't got the tape measure out but I'm not convinced the focus scale is telling the truth, will need to compare it...
