A quick look on the Vulcan forums didn't show any easy caliper swaps, they all seem to involve fabricating plates to accept alternatives.

The packing is impossible to remove without ruining it when you fit an aftermarket can, but it is available as a replacement part from Suzuki (about £25) or you could use a reducer sleeve like this...

Moving to a bike with decent mudguards, eh? ;):D
With the VNs having footboards, that must help with your knees too as you can change your leg position while on the go. Enjoy it!

His was a 21 plate Z so probably a Euro 5, which may explain the jerky throttle response .... and I totally agree with you on 90+bhp being wasted, I sometimes look at things like the 890 Duke but...
