Re: Carb issues

Got one stuck on my 600 Monster, possibly an age thing. Soaked the slow jet for a day in wd40, then carefully drilled with a small left hand drill bit. Came out after going up one size. It would be...

Re: Speedometer weirdness

It could be a voltage issue either with the wiring , connectors or in the clock.

Did this on the cheap, second hand top yoke from fleabay £25 ( kept my original untouched ), pair of clamps £7 and second hand jota bars £30.
Carefully drilled the yoke,...

Re: Can't go out to ride?

Never actually seen anyone bunny hopping an SV around, possibly a slight weight disadvantage.

Re: Lowering Footpegs

You have a few options, I have a standard set of K3 GSXR 750 rearsets on my K6 and on the lowest setting they are lower than standard pegs. You can fit a set of naked pegs , they should be lower. Or...

Re: EU regulations in the pipeline

Just as well this is under "Idle Banter " otherwise we might take it all too seriously. What happened to the manufacturers voluntary 186 mph limit, done to avoid regulation. Not that it would have...

Re: EU regulations in the pipeline

2 years to buy a car without a speed restriction, bikes next. All those worthless Ferrari's , might as well have a simple electric box on wheels. Doesn't bare thinking about. I will keep the SV and...

Re: removing acumen cat1

You will probably have to open up the loom, find the coloured wires that have been split and rejoin them. If there is no slack you can use the black wires as a patch, just don't get them mixed up. If...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Used Harpic on my Triumph Dolomite stainless tail pipe yesterday. Worked brilliantly, could have managed with the finish, but used some solvo and now have a very shiny exhaust. 2 quid in Asda...

Re: sv1000's are now ULEZ exempt

Thankfully it will never cause me an issue, but it's all interesting stuff. It only takes some cretin of a Mayor who want's to make a name for himself or herself to cause havoc. I wonder if they will...

Re: sv1000's are now ULEZ exempt

My 650 k6 on the V5 is ok for CO2 and NOX figures, however it fails on the HC figure when compared with Euro3. Are they only concerned with NOX ? The twin plug has a cleaner burn and was probably...

Re: Oxford Hot Grips controller placement?

Mine is on the clutch lever and is easy to reach and operate. If you try to hide it away, then operation may prove difficult. I set it on low, right at the start of a journey, better than waiting for...

Re: SV650S Headlight Upgrade Opinions

Fitted a couple of Osram " nightbreaker silver " bulbs to my K6 pointy, noticeably brighter than standard. They came in at around £12.75 for the pair. If you are on a tight budget then wait for Aldi,...

Re: GSXR back on ebay, SV wanted

Am I mental? Most probably. Either way if I dont sell the GSXR I will be buying an SV. It is unlikely to see the road again, just thrashed at hillclimbs once a month and then chucked in the shed...

Re: I've bought a Triumph........it's a triple!

You wont get pulled with the triumph ones, on tickover they sound the same as the originals, when you get going they sound sublime, not like your average crap can. Also Triumph stamp not for highway...

Re: I've bought a Triumph........it's a triple!

Re: Fuel consumption when towing a bike on a trailer?

My car seems better on petrol because I drive a bit slower and smoother. Diving into roundabouts with a bike on a trailer is not recommended.

Also on the plus side my bike doesnt use a drop when...

Re: Suzuki GSXR750 K6-7 vs Suzuki Daytona 675

I have a k6 750 at the moment, its an awsome bike, its speed and handling are difficult to beat. You will not go wrong with this one. A mate of mine bought a Triumph mainly for track days. It ran and...
