same thing happened to mine, lost punture repair, waterproof trouser, and nearly had a bungee rapped around the back wheel.

i ended up using cable ties to the lower grab rail. worked a treat

i must add that i have used the sticky strips on a car tyre with no problems.
as my car comes with no spare excepted, repair liquid which is horrible.
used the strip, and did a good few thousand...

what setting is the hot water, in some cases, people would get odd rads, like a towel rail put on the hot water curcit on the central heating,
it could be that the prevoius owner did the hall rad...

which steroe do you have fitted, as vw have a number of differant radios, the base model did not have an aux in, you my find it easier to go on flea bay and up grade the radio.

i was not gong fast, as traffic was heavy, and on of these painted little roundabouts, was just ahead of the accident!, so i was being cautious.
