Re: K4 SV1000 - GSXR front end

Don't think anything changed as the offset, fork length (etc) all remained the same from memory. Either that or the offset was so minor that it was here nor there. It tipped in nicely, held a line...

Re: K4 SV1000 - GSXR front end

Hi Dave

Hard to say - the bike only had 7500 miles on it when I made the change. Did it mainly for cosmetic reasons if I'm honest. Can't say the handling or brakes were night and day. Certainly...

Hi guys,

Time to let this go, I want something else.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143970237672

Open to sensible offers, but won't be giving it away as it's a unique beast. No biggy if I need...

Re: rear shock question

Actually, just found another forum that says the SV shock is 86mm. Even more confusing.

rear shock question

Howdy

Stock SV1000 shock length is 329.5mm (as is a K1/K2 GSXR1000 shock) but the stroke on the GSXR unit is apparently 74mm, whereas the SV1000 shock is 69mm before the stopper? No idea - anyone...

Re: 🔥 20% OFF from GRmoto Exhausts on Ebay

My OCD would go into overdrive with that carbon weave rolling in different directions between the can and end cone

over 400'000 people volunteering for the NHS. This country pulls some absolute blinders, sometimes.

Re: pay at the pump

I had no idea about this (never thought of it, but then swimming pools and so on, right?!). Gonna make up a bottle today, top stuff mate. Thanks 👍😊

Re: pay at the pump

Just take a third glove and slap it on for the touchoad bit 👍

But ultimately, it doesn't matter, just wash hands thoroughly and don't touch your face or anyone else's... All good.

Re: pay at the pump

If you have disposable gloves, why would a touchpad be an issue?

Re: pay at the pump

I'd argue simply leaving your gloves on is the best bet, leave everything on - not likely to touch your face if you've got a helmet on with your visor down, eh? Take gloves off by placing them under...

Re: pay at the pump

Was this way, with one supermarket. Now no longer done, by anyone.

End of conversation.

Re: Thou has knocking from rear end?

I'm on the 10th floor of a block of flats and a good 5 minute walk from my council owned garage, can't see it happening :D

Re: Thou has knocking from rear end?

Also, it sends a shiver down my spine to think this bike is 16 years old!

Re: Thou has knocking from rear end?

^ Agree with this. Seems most decent, stock-ish condition ones are going for circa £2500-£2750 on Ebay. Might see what the market's like in early April. I do love it, and tbh I'd keep it if I had...

Re: Thou has knocking from rear end?

That's a difficult question. It's only got 12k on the clock, serviced every 6 months or so (by me). Comes with the complete stock front end (it was a naked originally, not an S conversion). £3k too...

Re: Thou has knocking from rear end?

Turns out it was the right rear wheel bearing as I suspected. New bearings, new front fork seals (noticed front right was lightly misting) and new pads in the gixxer calipers... £205 all in. Not bad...

Re: Thou has knocking from rear end?

Actually, the bike's got about 11'000 miles on the clock and is a 54 plate. Might be worth replacing all the bearings anyway, right? Might throw a Maxton on the rear and get them to revalve the front...

Re: Thou has knocking from rear end?

Ok thanks guys. Chain, sprockets and tyres all done at once. Noise didn't become apparent until recently, the work was done mid summer...think June/July time. Think I'll take it to a garage, can't be...

Thou has knocking from rear end?

Hi guys

My SV1000 (K4) has developed a knocking sound while in motion. It's coming from the rear. I've checked the caliper and it's all fine, the rear wheel has no free play. Ain't the chain as...
