Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Levers have arrived, bit of tinkering coming up getting the hand guards on, followed by fitting some inner tubes to my boy's bike, the so-called tubeless tyres on it are hopeless. Apparently this is...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I bought the V-strom 650 guards, they include all bolts and washers and seem to be a straight fit onto an SV (and many other models apparently).
I say they "seem" to fit as I'm still waiting for...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
thanks for that, might dragoon some help with getting the placement "just so" :)
Glad to hear they keep the chill off, that's what I was hoping for - bit cheaper than electric gloves :)

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Got some handguards for the pointy, but it's too dark to fit them by the time I get home from work, so this will be a tinker project for the future :)
If anyone has fitted them, are there any...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
tinkering around with my son's CBF125 today, been tidying it up for him but needed it to get into London for nights tonight - seeing as I picked up another puncture last night and the repair guy had...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Closer inspection showed a crack in the plastic near where the screw holds the lens cover in place, which had allowed water in - quick clean up and a small washer glued to the indicator has provided...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Got all the naff stickers off my son's CBF125
Previous owner had covered it in stickers liberally using the "F" word, with one letter starred out - to (loosely) quote Alan Partridge, it was like...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Our stat was in an awkward spot which meant wireless was the best solution - it's been fine for 14 years now (apart from when the batteries get replaced, as mentioned before) :)
Car exhaust now...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
if it's a battery powered stat make sure you google how it re-connects if the batteries need replacing - even with the documentation mine is a nuisance to do, nothing major just exasperating

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
With my wireless stat the most awkward bit was synching it to the receiver - supposedly it just needed the 2 battery trays to be pushed in one after the other, but I think it actually needed 5 goes...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
A CBF 125 :) Just got hold of a nice one at a bargain price for my son, using it myself while I wait for a rear bearing to turn up for the SV - rear suspension has finally given up after 4 years of...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Tinkered, or more accurately swore and raged at my SV, which started first thing, but then refused to start again after I'd filled up with fuel.
I suspect my starter motor is on its way out, so more...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Mirrors - although I should say it's more of a constant tinker process!
Fitted Chewy's extenders, fabulous item that I wish I had bought sooner, but I'm now in the "it's not quite right, fiddle...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Decided not to trade in my pointy, so doing lots of little bits to give her a sprucing up.
So, a smoke black double bubble screen and new fork springs have been done, and have ordered some mirror...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
This turned out to be a disaster - rolled the bike out of the garage and forgot to put the side stand down - end result was me re-enacting the scene out of Fools and Horses where Del boy leans on the...
