Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Got my insurance renewal quote through from Carole Nash. As a lot of people on the MotoUK subreddit have had ridiculous hikes in their premiums, I was steeling myself for an assault on my credit... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
It didn't! Long story, but the surgical multidisciplinary team discussed my scans & case, and decided that a non-surgical approach (targeted radiotherapy etc) was the best overall approach. I'm... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
First ride on the bike for 6 weeks. Oh my, what a feeling, carving through the S-bends on the A41 down to Whitchurch, opening it up for the exits, hearing the Yoshi can bark and growl. It was one... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Very interesting, thanks! My problem is sciatic too (a problem with my L3 vertebra, which is right where the sciatic nerves emerge from the spine). |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I'll see how it goes, riding doesn't seem to aggravate things at this point but it could be worth a try! |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Thanks both - no back discomfort during or after the ride, which was nice. Luckily the Gen 3 riding position is quite upright and I do engage my core, which helps. Also, if ever you think your... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Rode my bike for the first time in over 7 weeks yesterday. Just 30 miles or so but oh my, it felt good. I was a little concerned about fuel separation as the last couple of fill-ups were with... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Just back from a beautiful ride in the Derbyshire Dales, gorgeously sunny, roads dry and not yet gritted, toasty warm with my heated vest on, and had a play with another rider on a Monster. His... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I went through Hartington on the way, but have never stopped there for cheese! Yes, I was lucky as usually the only time you can be sure of avoiding lorries on that route is early Sat / Sun... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Today was one of those rare and lucky rides down a favourite stretch of road (the Via Gellia (https://maps.app.goo.gl/wtUEH1EsTzMnuxQ56)) when there were no lorries or dawdling farm vehicles in front... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Our daughter's wedding today. Not going to be a big shindig but she's marrying a very good man that she really clicks with. As the old saying puts it, 'nothing propinks like propinquity'. |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Hah! As rock music is mentioned as one of the doorways, it reminded me of this quote from a sermon by Jimmy Swaggart, preacher (and, er, serial befriender & customer of ladies of the night): ... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
I keep meaning to carry some sticky string or similar in case of a puncture. I've been lucky in that the few that I've had have been very slow and only revealed themselves after a couple of days. |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Heh, to be honest I don't find the twin-spark motor is more tricky than the single-spark, you've still got to remove the seat & lift the tank to get at the rear cylinder anyway :) Now, the person... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Greased the calipers on the SV today. And it occurred to me that, in many ways, greasing calipers is like making love tp a beautiful woman. First you have to remove all the fastenings, then strip... |

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?
Went over the Cat & Fiddle to Buxton in the car to do some shopping. As often happens in this neck of the woods, the weather didn't follow the forecast: it started raining, and the temperature... |
