Re: Proposal to stop bike modifications

It might stop the obnoxious rats around here from getting their ECU's altered so their DSG gearchanges make stupid rasping noises every shift with overly loud crackles and bangs on the overrun that...

Re: Heat pump

Ideally I'd go for solar tiles or panels with a power wall of some kind for night time or poor weather. But it probably means ripping out a lot of the current services, pipes, rads etc. and...

Re: Heat pump

I might be able to put one at first floor level above my garage roof, but as it's a pitched roof the access is poor for fitting and maintenance. Cannot put one one the other side as the neighbours...

Re: The all new slap bang up to date photo of the day 2021!

There are several full sized ones about the garden at the moment too, probably looking for hibernation spots. They leap away when you move the wheelie bin, for example, they were under and frighten...

Re: The all new slap bang up to date photo of the day 2021!

We've had stacks of these tiny frogs in the pond quite late in the season this year. I hope they've grown enough to survive! You can see from the duck weed how small they are and the pipe on the...

Re: Petrol shortage

Yes. This is the southest, home of the worst kind of selfish me, me, me **** imaginable, and poor tanker scheduling it seems. I was down to 25 miles of range too but the pump jockey still looked at...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

As I can get to the casings (and chrome exhaust) without problem I'll wipe them with a lightly oiled cloth. He won't be used until spring so I don't need to worry about picking up grit or dirt and it...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Nice, long, round the houses ride today in the sunshine to get some more coffee beans as I'm running low. Cracking day for it and cannot believe I'm still using my summer gloves over a week into...

Re: Petrol shortage

Took three garages but I got some fuel ahead of Hugh's likely winter layover today. I could only get regular E10 unleaded which was annoying but all the E95 Super pumps were taped up. Will add...

Re: 1.43 litre

Most cars have a tank of 50ish litres, so even if the tank is pretty empty a difference of 1p on a litre is only going to be 50p difference in the total cost, assuming it gets brimmed. So many people...

Re: The All New Megathread

Eve'nin Organs. Might start drinking a bit earlier than usual tonight. Just back from the bicycle shop after they called to say the e-bikes Lady Poppy and I ordered would be delivered a bit later...

Re: The all new slap bang up to date photo of the day 2021!

Always nice to see Mabel looking noble and relaxed.

Here's another feathered model from Bodnant.

Re: The all new slap bang up to date photo of the day 2021!

Wet and manky day here at Trev Towers so have been wandering through the pics I've taken this year looking out some interesting ones.

On holiday in Wales back in June I got to try my 70-350G on...

Re: Petrol shortage

Right at the moment I would probably feel eyes boring into me as I filled nothing but my 5 litre can, with everyone thinking I was a hoarder. The fact my lawnmower needs it and I used the last of...

Re: Petrol shortage

So do I, for the same reason.

It's almost time for Hugh to go into hibernation (unlacquered casings and salt do not play well) and I really need to fill the tank to minimise condensation first....

Re: Petrol shortage

The one thing you can blame the government for is IR35. Independent owner/drivers have been caught up in something trying to stop white collar workers avoiding NI, despite most of us on day rates...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Lady Poppy has just got back from Marlow and said all the petrol stations she passed were out of fuel or had stupid queues. As the supplies are only slowed, not disrupted, it should mean most outlets...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Sounds like my ride home from Spannerman's yesterday. I avoid motorways on the bike normally but took the M3/M25/M40 option to keep it simple (I was a bit knackered) and found the M25 like a carpark....

Re: The All New Megathread

I'll put it on the list to try Chris. One of the positives of lockdown and the whole working from home malarkey is I get to take ten minutes of a morning to come downstairs, grind some beans and make...
