I've lost count of the number of pedestrians that have jumped to safety when I've given a big burst of throttle while filtering through traffic in the West End — and I'm talking about those that have simply paid no heed to where they're walking or looking, not from me going banzai. No time to find and fiddle with the horn button, the throttle's already in my grasp. Had I not done this this, both I and several of these jay-walkers might have found themselves in hospital.
Loud cans do save lives.
