I'm surprised that the mechanic mentioned hadn't experienced this before, Suzuki have been using the same mechanism, (albeit in a few different forms), for a long time on various models of their bikes, the b*gg*r*d clutch lifter is really not unusual, I think I've replaced two SV ones this year.

...and advised to fit one as well.
However, mine nevr fixed the issue, nor did a second hand basket, or new plates...looks like its new parts time, or just live with clutch drag
