My neighbour across the road this morning lifts his garage door, fires up his blade and rides out. He hadn't got off the bike to shut the door when half of it dropped as a cable snapped. I was watching him out the window through my green eyes thinking what is he waving at me for.

Goes outside and hear him shouting FFS help.

The side that had collapsed had come off the frame and dropped onto his gas meter.

So I took the weight of the fallen side whilst he cut the good cable and we were at least able to shut his door.

Well my garage now looks nice as my bent SV has a Repsol CBR1000RR keeping it company.

I would have guessed 5 seconds earlier and it would have been my neighbour and his bike that took the initial impact of the collapsing garage door. I haven't had the chance to look at the design but would have thought they should be designed to fail safe if the cables snap.
