I just did mine - Using Haynes manual. viz:
Ensure engine is warm so that oil runs freely. (10 minute drive will do it)
Put oil catcher under sump and remove plug.
Remove oil fill cap to let oil flow freely.
Use oil filter spanner (about £5 from Busters) to remove oil filter.
Let oil drain out.
Clean round sump hole and oil filter flange(say that p*ssed!).
Smear engine oil round oil filter seal and screw oil filter in - screw in until rubber seal contacts mating surface and then two full turns.
Replace sump plug.(21 NM)
Fill with 2.4 litres of new engine oil.
Replace filler cap.
