Did they actually say 'you may be prosecuted for these offences' or similar as they need to if she wants to follow it up and arrange to send you a summons through the post after due consideration of the 'facts'. I believe they also need to caution you pretty much immediately after asking your name and address as any other details you're giving are statements affecting your case etc etc. Did they do that?

Nah, it was more of a general chit chat, it was pretty obvious she was sketchy on the laws, but like I said in my original post, she was no traffic officer. I don't know EVERYTHING about my job, so why should I expect someone else to?
Tomorrow, if I find another police car, I'll be hoping it's fraser01
