The intention wasn't sympathy, but thanks anway. As for honourable? I don't see it that way. To me, it's just as I posted, he was trying to help, why punish him for that? If people keep getting punished for being unfortunate (rather than malicious), surely that's when society starts to break down into an "every man for themselves" situation.
Anyhow, back on topic. Good news that you got hit by a decent bloke, who at least seemed genuinely concerned for your well being. Not so good news that you got hit though. There's so many tw@s on the roads these days.
