Depends where they are mounted. All the best bungs mount directly into the engine mounts, this is what you want. The ones in the link look like they do but you can't see for the fairing. Any bungs mounting to any bracketry are usually much weaker and can bend into the frame or engine causing more damage than just scraping the fairing would.

if they mount to the banana bracket thingy then they will be next to useless. I didn't have fairings on mine, any faired bike owners shed some light on this?
