Before you start to learn to drive, make sure you are aware of the eyesight requirements. If you need glasses or contact lenses to meet the requirements you must make sure you wear them every time you drive.

Doesn't say you have to tell them, true, but I thought you did and here I think is proof (PDF download) Top of page 38 (Chapter 6 - Visual Disorders) it states '-The applicant or licence holder must notify DVLA unless stated otherwise in the text'
