Default Re: Ohlins, Hagon, Hyperpro etc shocks for curvey

You know, I had completely forgotten about this thread!!!

I left the fitment over winter due to factors of time, and muck everywhere, and finally got around to it a couple of weeks back. Bit of a pain in the rear, as with any shock removal, but with the remote reservoir, it fits in a hell of a sight easier than the 636 shock did!!

Shock has ride height adjustability, so it's currently set to 20mm longer than stock to give the quickness of handling I like, with the rear being a little higher.

Thus far on the commute, and a little bit of harder riding, it's been spot on. Damping feels well controlled, spring rate suits my ahem rotundity and bike feels nice and stable. I've yet to have a real ride with it, but will get some time over next few weeks and update accordingly.

Looks - different colour combos to other shocks (and if I was overly tarty as accused by Ben on one occasion, doesn't match my bike), but machined parts have a "quality" appearance.

I've mounted the remote reservoir just between the shock and battery box to hide away, also the oil line wasn't quite long enough to mount from the thingy handles where you strap stuff to. Also keeps it out of the sight of people who might like to mess about with my shock.

Give me a couple o hundred miles and I'll post again.
