I used to be pants until i decided just to concentrate on my road position. It takes a while to get used to, being in the right position without thinking about it, but once it clicks its great. You can begin to use the bike so much more and get loads more enjoyment out of it.
Just like i did when overtaking those GSXR's. It wasn't nice sitting behind watching her ride like that, but looking back it makes me realise how much i've learnt. Going fast in a straight line is fun, but carrying the speed through the corners is twice as much fun.
Going slow and getting the right line around a corner is more important than blating off at 100mph on and off the throttle
!!! I never have to use my brakes before a corner now unless i'm distracked or end up behind a row of traffic.
